Conair Instant Heat Jumbo and Super Jumbo Hot Rollers (Review)

Since I have long hair, I wanted to buy jumbo hot rollers, but did not want to pay $50 and up for some "professional" ones.  I've fallen for the professional label before and most of the time, I am either disappointed or there isn't much of a difference in performance.  So I picked up the Conair hot rollers for $30 which isn't exactly cheap, but it's less expensive.

It comes with 12 rollers, 8 are jumbo (purple) and 4 are super jumbo (dark gray).  At first, this does not seem like enough, but it winds up being the perfect amount for my head of hair.  My hair is fine in texture, but there is a lot of it.  It naturally dries wavy/slightly frizzy then it's straight by the end of the day.  It's kinda strange, but I'm not complaining. 

These rollers work really well with my hair.  They heat up fairly quickly and I have no problems rolling them into my hair.  The only problem I have is with the clips!  They are these stiff metal wire-like hooks and they are terrible.  They function, but they are hard to secure and can leave kinks in the hair where there were.  Luckily they seem to smooth out, but not always.  So I've been trying to find roller clips somewhere else, but am not having any luck.  Any suggestions?  They would be very appreciated.  It's a large flaw of the system with an easy fix if I find clips.  So I'm not upset with the purchase because I love how my hair turns out.

I like to finish the curls with Freeze It Original Freeze Hair Spray 24 Hour Hold.  I really love this stuff.  It makes my hair shiny and keeps it in place.  Plus it brushes out!

Sephora Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Black, Glitter Khaki, Fancy Blue, and Fancy Violet (Review)

I feel like Sephora eyeliners are underrated, and not just their liquid liners that I'm reviewing today, but their waterproof pencils and jumbo sized liners.  These liquid liners are long-lasting and pigmented.  My absolute favorites are Black and Fancy Blue.

Black, Glitter Khaki, Fancy Blue, Fancy Violet

Below I am wearing Black which I have used in several of my looks that I have previously posted.  It's just very clean and very matte black.  It never wears off on me because it is a dryer formula, but that doesn't mean that it dries out.  I have had mine for maybe 6 months and it is still the same as it was when I first used it.  You get a very clean line with the felt tip.  This is great when you are in a hurry.

Here we have Glitter Khaki which is soooo gorgeous.  Pictures do not do this liner justice.  I received so many compliments when I wore it for the first time because it has a dazzling effect.  With two layers, you get great results.  It's glittery without being childish.

Next up is Fancy Blue, my favorite favorite.  I can just wear this alone and it does wonders to brighten my eyes and make them interesting.  I couldn't live without this one.  It is matte like the black and is so vibrant.  It's even pigmented over any color of eyeshadow and any type (cream or powder).

Fancy Violet isn't as crazy as Blue, but is still super pretty and a really great liner to have in my collection. This is definitely best paired with a shadow.  I like it over purples, browns, and greens.

Can't wait to try more.  And at ten bucks, you can't beat that because drugstore liners cost that much or even more sometimes.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in Strut (Review)

Texture: Strut is a very smooth and velvety cream eyeshadow that is easier to apply than MAC's Blackground (I feel like they are similar in color and wear).  But this is only pigmented when layered and I have a hard time getting it to blend out without looking patchy.  I have used a few brushes and my finger.

Wear: It does last while, I wore it out all night last Friday, but it was layered with eyeshadow over it to set it.  I'm not sure whether it would last as long by itself, but by no means does it wear off in less than 6 hours.  It's a great primer/base to bring out other colors, but at $22, umm...
Color:  This is a very metal gray that I thought would appear more like a dark gray with a taupe accent.  I'm not a large fan of flat silvery or metal colors so I wouldn't have bought this if I hadn't swatched it in store with the tester.  I hate testers because I feel like so many people have played with them that you don't buy what you think you are buying.  I'm sure the swatch I did in-store was mixed with another shadow.  I really don't like this by itself.  I wish it were richer and looked how it does in the pot when applied.  And the more you layer it, the more these shimmer chunks appear that you thought the product didn't even have in it.

 Now I don't want to sell this product short because it's not terrible.  It is quality, just not to my satisfaction with color.  You can see the heavy shimmer in the photos above.

Above, you can see how it's semi-patchy and that's after three layers and touching up.  It does blend out fairly nicely though.

This is my finished look with Strut, but I also used MAC Satin Taupe, Sephora Cream Liner in Black, Lorac Black, I can't remember the highlight color

I hate looking like a lost puppy! Haha. But this was the best picture I happened to take with my phone and I wanted to show just how much the eyeshadow brightened my eyes. I just bought the palette for like $4 and the quality is great, I only wish that Jane Cosmetics would come out with more neutral or shimmery colors.  Oh and I also look naked, I can assure you that I'm not!

*I used Lorac Black to smoke out the liner and also to create the winged portion.  Something about the soft wing makes it more sultry (I really don't like the word sultry, but it's exactly what I mean.  Just thought I'd put that out there).
